Belgrade Philharmonic accompanied by applause – 24sata online

Under the direction of conductor John Axelord, together with the brilliant pianist Behzud Abduraimov, the Belgrade Philharmonic performed works by Shostakovich, Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky, tonight in Kolarac at the opening of a new concert season entitled "We just wanted you”.

More than 80 philharmonic orchestras enchanted the audience with full sound during the performance, which was accompanied by a very emotional atmosphere since the orchestra returned to Kolarac after a year and a half, in its regular time, on Fridays at eight.

Traditionally, the opening of the season began with the intonation of the anthem of God of Justice.

Symbolically, Shostakovich’s "Ceremonial Overture” opened the repertoire and preceded the masterful performance of virtuoso Behzud Abudraimov, one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation, whose name is part of concert seasons around the world.

The concert was pompously closed by Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, which conductor Axelrod said was performed by many orchestras, but that the way the Belgrade Philharmonic does it proves that Tchaikovsky and his work are in their genes.

The audience sent the protagonists of this first-class musical event off the stage with several minutes of applause.

Tonight’s concert was held in the Great Hall of the Kolarac Endowment in the allowed capacity according to the kovid rules.

Also, attendance at the concerts of the Belgrade Philharmonic is possible only with a certificate of complete vaccination, confirmation of a previous infection caused by the Kovid-19 virus, confirmation of a negative PCR test on Kovid-19 or an antigen test or proof of a previous disease.
