Zejtinlik marked 103 years of the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki front – 24sata online

Today, the Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans’ Affairs and Social Affairs, Darija Kisić Tepavčević, led the state commemorative ceremony of laying wreaths and giving mail to Serbian soldiers on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki Front in the complex of the Serbian Military Cemetery Zejtinlik in Thessaloniki.

Kisic Tepavcevic talked at the Zejtinlik Military Cemetery with the decades-old guardian of that cemetery, George Mihailovic, to whom she handed a gold coin with the image of St. George and the inscription "Grateful Serbia”, the Ministry of Labor announced.

On that occasion, she pointed out the immeasurable contribution of George Mihailovic to preserving the memory of the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki front and the fallen Serbian soldiers, who rest in the Zejtinlik Military Cemetery.

"Your country is infinitely grateful to you for everything you do. Thank you for teaching the young generations and reminding them of the great sacrifice that the Serbian army made precisely so that we could live in peace and freedom today, "said Kisić Tepavčević.

In the Memorial Book, Minister Kisić Tepavčević wrote: "Serbian heroes, your courage and your feat, Serbia will remember forever.”

The Minister of Labor and Veterans’ and Disabled Protection of the Republic of Srpska, Dushko Milunovic, also attended the commemorative ceremony at the Zejtinlik Military Cemetery.

Delegations of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army, a delegation of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Thessaloniki, and representatives of associations committed to nurturing the traditions of the liberation wars of Serbia also paid tribute to Serbian soldiers.
